Road Trip! Zut alors!
Auntie Chianti and Auntie Spumante (aka Fort Hill Designs) hit the road last Friday, and headed over the boarder into Canada, for 2 nights in Old Quebec, and one in Montreal. We had a blast drinking and eating and walking around these cities, visiting art galleries and local shops. Here are some of the highlights:
We didn’t just visit traditional art galleries/exhibits; we spiced things up a bit by stopping by “The Museum of Bad Art” and the exhibit “O Merde!” (“Oh Shit” to you non-french speaking folks) at the Musee de la Civilisation. Yep, we paid money to see it, cuz we’re classy like that.
We had drinks at the bar at the Chateau Frontenac on Saturday night, and made friends with a couple from Ontario. We got the bartender to make one of her specialty drinks into shots for the 4 of us:
Two mornings later, before leaving Montreal, we had breakfast at a nearby restaurant, and the service was a little slow, because they were slammed. Our waiter apologized as he poured more coffee into our cups, and I joked that a little Baileys would help solve that problem… and he came back minutes later with two small pitchers of Baileys! Gotta love Canada!
On the way back to Maine, we stopped by Warren, VT to visit Kevin and Ellen, a very nice end to our trip:
